Online Insurance ads: Don’t take the bait...
March 18, 2022 by Ryan Danielson
If it’s on the internet…then it must be true right?!
I feel like this goes without saying, but I’m going to say it
anyways: don’t believe everything you see on the internet.
Nowadays, most of the content online is no more reliable than
the cover of a gossip magazine at your local grocery store. Most
of these online ads are clickbait, they’re just trying to draw you
in with either fear or greed…or both!
Here are some examples of what online clickbait looks like:
•
“Things insurance companies don’t want you to know!”
•
“People born before 1995 can save a ton on auto insurance!”
•
“Because of this new law, car insurance is now 50% lower!”
•
“This money saving tip on insurance will shock you!”
•
“If you never drive in the rain, and your car is blue, and you never make left turns, then we can
save you thousands of dollars on your car insurance!”
These ads seem ridiculous but people still click them. Sometimes, customers will call our office to
verify if an ad they saw was true! Instead of buying into these ads, you’re better off contacting a
real person with insurance experience. Someone you who you trust, can talk to, and is willing to
find out what coverage you need at the most competitive price.
